Making an Appointment

Health Centre Hours
The Health Centre is open between the hours of 0830– 1800 Mon-Fri

Consultation Times
0900– 1300 / 1400– 1800 Mon-Fri

The doctors operate a rota system within these hours. Two-three early surgeries per week held between 8.00 and 9.00am

How To Register with the Practice
Come along to reception. Either hand in a medical card or complete a new registration form. Complete a Health Questionnaire (this is helpful until your previous records become available). Make a New Patient appointment with the Practice Nurse for a general health check.

Availability Standards
In normal circumstances we endeavour to meet the following standards for routine appointments:

  • Patients should be able to see a named doctor within 2 working days. (FT GPs only)
  • Patients should be able to see any doctor within 1 working day.

How to See Your Doctor
Appointments can be arranged personally or by telephone. We operate an appointments system based on "Advanced Access", which means appointments can be arranged on the same day. There are also pre-bookable appointments available at set times through the day. Please see our Advanced Access leaflet for further details.

If you cannot keep an appointment please let us know, so the appointment can be offered to another patient.

Continuity of Patient Care
We encourage patients to attend the same doctor throughout the duration of a particular episode of care.

Telephone Advice
Telephone appointments are available throughout the day.

Practice Area
Patients will be accepted onto the Doctors’ list from Glen Isla, Prosen, Uig, Clova, Moy, Quiech, Ogil and Ogilvy and from Airlie, Ruthven, Eassie, Glamis, Padanaram, Tannadice and Fern and all areas within these limits.

A map outlining the area is available for inspection in the Health Centre.
District Nurses based at the Health Centre cover much of this area.

Home Visits
Home visits are for patients who are too ill to be seen at the surgery. Please do not ask the doctor to call unless the patient is genuinely too ill to attend the surgery.

All requests for home visits should be before 9.15am so that we can plan our day. Reception staff will ask the nature of the problem in order to help the doctor-on-call to arrange his/her schedule and assess the degree of urgency.

When the Health Centre is Closed
In an emergency. Please call NHS24
Telephone 08454 24 24 24

Removal of Patients from our List
In exceptional circumstance e.g. physical or verbal abuse to any member of our practice team patients may be removed from our list.

Access for the Disabled
The Health Centre is situated on one level and has easy access for the disabled. There are no steps for wheelchair users to negotiate inside or outside the building.
